Members of the Duluth band
Super D & the Double Chucks will be fighting the morning
eye-boogers on April 12. The three-piece pseudo-kinda- country/variety
band will be performing a song on KDLH-TV at around 6:45 a.m.
The early-morning gig is in
support of the band’s performance the following night
at the NorShor Theatre during Geek Prom. The TV segment will
be part of KDLH’s Newschannel 3 This Morning
program, which airs from 6–7 a.m.
Super D & the Double Chucks
have also just released the follow-up to their self-titled
debut CD. The new album, Instrumentals, contains
a wealth of good-time kegger music the for the whole demented
family to enjoy.
The April 13 Geek Prom is a
“somewhat formal dance for adult misfits.” Super
D & the Double Chucks will be playing that show at the
more suitable to rock-n-roll timeslot of 10pm. The Twin Cities’
power-rumba parody group Vinnie & the Stardüsters
will follow at 11:30 p.m.
There will also be a
short Geek Prom fashion show on Newschannel 3 This Morning
one week earlier on April 5. The segment will showcase all
the latest headgear and nerdwear sure to turn all the skinny
necks at Geek Prom.
