Have Geek Prom, will travel

April 15, 2006 | Duluth News Tribune

Duluth geeks apparently have worn out their welcome. The annual Geek Prom, held in Duluth since 2002, is moving to the Twin Cities.

The fifth annual Geek Prom will begin 7:30 p.m. April 22 at the Science Museum of Minnesota in St. Paul.

"The museum is really a perfect setting for this event, because when geeks party, they want to party with the skeleton of an extinct passenger pigeon," Geek Prom founder Paul Lundgren wrote in a news release.

Dork-a-rific activities include a video-game tournament in the museum's big-screen 3-D Cinema, a spaz-dancing contest and cow eye dissection. Seriously.
